Saying good bye to friends with handmade jewelry and cookies of course

I have left my postdoctoral positions- yesterday was my last day. I am sure most people are sane enough not to attempt making nearly 15 pieces of jewelry overnight- I did because I am INSANE but hey who cares- it  was a boat load of fun especially since I have not made any pieces recently (I had this gnawing fear of having lost my creativity). These pieces look good- don't they! I could not leave out the boys, could I- so they got cookies- made this seeded chocolate chip cookies (recipe from Martha Shulman, of course with my own modifications)- these cookies were delicious!!   I also made these cards- stamps and distress inks are your friend!

Earrings galore....

Having been under the weather this past week, put my time to good use. Learned this beautiful right angle weave earring from beaded jewelry diva - it is not perfect though, can see thread in parts! I had very similar colored beads too...

Thinking about the calm....

A few more simple pieces

Two recent pieces

I finally organized my beading and scrapbooking stations and that seems to be working well especially since I actually could make a couple of decent pieces.

Some new pieces of jewelry

With agate focal piece, for my mom...   with sterling silver heart, also for my mom! Most of these are finds from the Bead bazzar that happened in Marlborough, MA

Red goodness or good redness?!

Newest in the list, the focal is a swarovski button

A couple of pieces I recently made

Check these out- some of my more recent pieces!

Crystal clear-1

I made this recently for a friend, turned out ok! That is a cutsy bear pendant, when I first got it though I had no idea what I was gonna do with it...but hey all is well that ends well, innit...

Watch it

Here are a couple of watches I made (well watch straps!)

Color Purple

Recent color purple venture of mine, it shines beautifully, and why would'nt it with all the swarovski crystals!

Honeycomb bracelet and earring

I am hoping to start a gallery of all my creations soon!

My newest

Here is my newest creation. I really love the bold glass pendant. I usually don't make ones with big pendants.

Is this bright enough?

I love the color on this one- makes me cheery everytime I look at it. I made this a while ago and am still proud of it!

Red goddess

Here are two necklaces with mostly red beads! The top one has just various shades of red with a beautiful sterling silver toggle clasp. The choker in the bottom is red marble beads with apricot pearls in between.

Wonders of colors

My scrape with jewelry making began when an undergraduate in the lab wore earrings that she had made, her mistake- telling me that jewelry making is easy! Well it might be easy but definitely not a hobby that can be sustained on a grad student salary. Somehow I have been keeping it up- although I now am trying out new territories of jewelry making, the one thing I sort of cannot do is color coordination, so it takes an unimaginable amount of time to create one piece of jewelry. But I am hoping some of these creations of mine would fetch me some moolah to keep up with this pursuit. Just to show off- Turqoise magic and cool gal's cool blue
